There aren’t many things faster on earth than a Formula 1 Car but try telling that to DHL. The delivery company founded in 1969 believes they can deliver at Formula 1 levels of speed and as Official Logistics Partner of the sport. You wouldn’t put it passed them.
Their latest advert features ‘the speed of yellow’ racing around the world with the raw of a Formula 1 engine, passing through city streets, sandy deserts and snowy mountains to reach their destination. It also set to the classic tune ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,’ a song that has been associated with DHL for over two decades.
The famous yellow of DHL teamed up with another famous yellow, that of the Jordan team back in 2002 but now feature as sponsors for the sport itself.
DHL are also behind a sought after trophy in F1 and what could be better fitted to a delivery company than the award for getting from A to B the quickest, the fastest lap award.
While the story of multiple different drivers winning the opening races, the DHL fastest lap is just as competitive, with seven drivers taking fastest lap in the first eight races. Button in Australia, Räikkönen in Malaysia, Kobayashi in China, Vettel in Bahrain and Canada, Grosjean in Spain, Perez in Monaco and Rosberg in Valencia.
Who will get from A to B the quickest in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone? Will we see Vettel extend his lead and head towards winning the DHL fastest lap for the first time since 2009? We’ll have to wait and see.
